Welcome !

I am an expert on issues of democracy, migration and the politics of belonging

My work explores how democracies can remain resilient in times of migration, polarization, and contested narratives of belonging.

As Professor of Political Science and History at the University of Victoria and recipient of the 2026 Humboldt Research Award, I work at the intersection of research, public debate, and policy engagement, with a transatlantic focus on Europe and North America.

I am committed to building transnational networks that strengthen democratic dialogue across societies.
